Our country has shown rapid improvement in the field of girl’s education since independence. However, we cannot rest on our laurels. We have to continue working hard to ensure every girl and boy in this country enjoys access to quality education. The need for empowerment of women through education was keenly felt amongst socially aware citizens before independence also.A group of dedicated individuals founded Shrimati Dadibai Deshmukh Hindu Mulinchi Shala way back in 1915 to enable every girl child to enjoy her right to education and also to  promote Their all-round development. The sapling, which started with just five girl students has now grown into a gigantic tree nurturing more than 2000 girls by providing quality, comprehensive and all round education. Stree Shikshan Prasarak Mandal also took the initiative to provide education to housewives and working women  and started the evening college, for women in 1971, despite innumerable hurdles .Today Mahila Mahavidyalaya is imparting education to lesser privileged women in an area where education to girls of weaker sections was a far reaching dream. The Institution till date has provided education to thousands of girls, and helped them enrich their lives socially and economically. The tiny sapling in the form of a single faculty Arts college has grown slowly and steadily with addition of Bachelor of Cosmetic Technology-a 4 year degree program, 5 P.G programs and is a Research Centre for pursuing Ph.D in English and Home Economics. The students of our Institution have representation in various fields such as sports, curricular and extracurricular activities. We feel proud and satisfied when we see our students serving in different capacities in various organization as well as being successful entrepreneurs, social workers etc.
