Mahila Mahavidyalaya began its journey of imparting education to lesser privileged women in an area, where education to girls of weaker sections, was a far reaching dream. Stree Shikshan Prasarak Mandal took the initiative in 1971 and started the evening college for housewives and workingwomen in spite of many challenges. The Institution till date has provided education to thousands of girls, and helped them enrich their lives socially and economically. The tiny sapling in the form of a single faculty of Arts  has grown slowly and steadily. Presently, the Institution has  2 undergraduate programme-Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Cosmetic Technology, 5 P.G programs, and is a Research Centre for pursuing Ph.D in English and Home Economics.
The college undertakes various Career Oriented Programs and Skill Development Courses thereby providing additional opportunities to the students to pursue career in varied fields. The college is spread over 1.67 acres of land with lush green campus, eco-friendly and disabled friendly campus. The college is committed to promoting the traditional games like Kho-Kho & Kabaddi apart from representation in athletics, karate , etc. It has won accolades in sports at various levels. It has the distinction of producing players of international and national repute. Four of our students are proud recipients of Chatrapati Award. The college also encourages its students to participate in various co-curricular activities like elocution, debate, cultural programmes, drama competitions, entrepreneurship development competitions, beauty pageants , sports etc. It also sensitizes its student about environmental conservation, constitutional obligation, gender sensitization, human values and social issues. We believe in empowering our students in various fields by enhancing potentials within them, so that they become  confident, self-reliant and a good human being and citizens of our country Bharat.
